We planned and developed the “Terra do Troca-Letras” series, in which characters travel across Brazil’s five regions, discovering the country’s rich culture while playfully changing letters and creating new words. The series goes beyond the alphabet to explore phonemes that are common in Brazilian Portuguese but often absent in other languages, such as English and Spanish. Children engage with sounds and spelling patterns such as Ç, QU, GU, LH, and NH, as well as tilde, acute, and circumflex accents.
The series also highlights frequently confused phonetic pairs—P/B, V/B, D/B, G/J—helping learners recognize and master these differences in a fun, meaningful way.
